The Texas Commission on jail standards says the Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center is not meeting state requirements.
The Executive Director says that is the number one reason the detention center in Olmito is adding 356 beds to it's already 652 bed facility and adding and removing walls to meet maximum security facility standards.
The $15 million dollar expansion the facility will have a total of 1,008 beds and be in compliance with state regulations and the project is scheduled to be completed August 2010.
