The near death of a child prompts the Consumer Product Safety Commission to announce a recall of 7,300 insulated black out rollers and Roman Shades made by Green Mountain Vista in Vermont.
The shades have a looped bead chain that poses a strangulation hazard to children when it's not attached to the wall or floor. A 2 year-old girl nearly strangled herself after being caught in the chain, but has recovered. Consumers should stop using the blinds and contact Green Mountain to order a free repair kit.
