California cop in hot water after scaring daughter's boyfriend with fake arrest.
The parents of a San Jose, California teenager an off-duty San Jose police officer showed up at their home and handcuffed their son for having sex with the officer's 14-year-old stepdaughter.
The 15-year-old boy's parents say the motorcycle cop found out the teens were having sex and he showed up at their home in full uniform, handcuffed their son and began berating the boy, telling him that he had warned him to stay away from his daughter.
The boy's stepfather caught parts of the August 30th fake arrest incident on cell phone video and gave it to the Mercury News.
"Not a good thing that the person you had sex with is a cop's daughter," the officer said to the boy as he sat in handcuffs in his family's living room, according to the video. "The district attorney will probably file charges. A cop's daughter is not somebody you mess around with. You're stupid."
According to the paper, the officer told the boy's mother when she opened the door that night that he was going to arrest their son for sexual assault.
After the incident, the cop removed the cuffs and pulled the parents aside.
He told them he just wanted to scare the boy and gave them an arrest card, suggesting they put it on the fridge as a reminder of the incident.
The cop's lawyer, Terry Bowman, said his client was doing the boy's parents a favor so he "doesn't continue to down the wrong path."
After the incident was reported to police internal affairs the boy was arrested for unlawful sexual intercourse.
The district attorney's office is reviewing the case.
The officer has been put on administrative leave during the investigation.
