Gunman dead after shooting doctor and patient in Baltimore Hospital.
Two people are dead and a doctor is wounded after a shooting inside one of America's best-known hospitals.
A SWAT team from Baltimore's Police Department converged on a wing at Johns Hopkins Hospital Thursday morning after reports that someone had shot a doctor.
Police quickly confirmed the shooting and a standoff with the gunman.
Police now say, the gunman, identified as 50 year old Warren Davis, shot a doctor in the abdomen while standing outside the room where his mother was being treated after the doctor had given Davis some distressing news about his mother's condition.
A two-hour standoff ended when officers made a gruesome discovery.
Davis had killed both his mother and himself inside her hospital room.
Baltimore Police are now treating the case as a murder-suicide.
The doctor is expected to recover.
