Those pesky mosquitos were defiantly visible in Arroyo City, and that's something many residents including Charles Poer know about all to well.
"200-300 follow you in the front door and then you have to kill them all that's what we do here."
Poer says many of the mosquitos come from a property across the street that many in the city have a knick name for.
"We call it Lake Arroyo"
Poer says the land was recently purchased by a resident.
"The standing water is a mosquito breading area, thats one of the main issues here they just formed that lake the other day when they cleared the land. They are trying to fill it but didn't get it done before the last rain we had about 10-12 inches."
Poer says he stocked with mosquito repellent.
"Two cans of Off and one bottle of Off that's how we protect ourselves."
When Poer walks into his home he has made a special room so the mosquitos don't get into his house.
We contacted the Cameron County Health Department and they say got quite a few calls from Arroyo City residents. They tells they are sending a crew to spray the area.
