A man is behind bars after police say he used an automatic rifle to shoot up a Weslaco home.
32 year-old Santiago Martinez faced a judge on Monday afternoon and is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of cocaine. The shooting took place on Kansas street early Sunday morning when Martinez fired 40 to 60 shots outside the a home with a high powered rifle. He then went into the home and fired more shots injuring a 37 year-old woman. Emergency crews took her to a nearby hospital where she is expected to recover.
