Texas Governor Rick Perry will be in South Texas on Tuesday.
Senator for District 27, Eddie Lucio Jr. announced that Governor Perry will be coming to the Regional Academic Health Center in Harlingen and putting pen to paper by signing Senate Bill 98 into law. The bill will help create a state of the art health science center in the Rio Grande Valley. This is something Senator Lucio says has taken more than 30 years to become a reality.
The economic impact is estimated to be anywhere from $1.3 to $1.5 million dollars a year. During it's first 10 years of operation the school is scheduled to be up and running within the next three years.
