At least four killed when gas pipeline turns neighborhood into flaming inferno.
At least four people are dead and two dozen homes destroyed following a massive explosion in the town of San Bruno, California.
The San Francisco suburb looks like a war zone, and investigators say it's being considered a crime scene.
The natural gas line exploded 6:15 Thursday evening, burning dozens of homes to the ground and severely damaging others.
"Thought it was a earthquake and we tried to get under a door jam, and it just kept increasing and increasing," said Phil Persocio. "It did sound like a jet turbine engine getting louder and louder, and we could feel heat coming through the wall."
The explosion kicked up a 2,300 foot fireball that could be seen from five miles away.
Firefighters worked through the night to try and contain the blaze
The cause of the gas line rupture is still unknown.
