Police continue to search for the person responsible for stabbing a 20-year-old to death outside his girlfriend’s house. 24-year-old Omar Garcia Vasquez has been in trouble with the law before and may be in trouble once again after being wanted for the murder of Eduardo Medellin.
Crime scene tape surrounded the house on South 10th St. in Edinburg. a 911 call was received around 12:45 a.m. Edinburg Police officers arrived at the scene and found the 20-year-old lying on the ground, bleeding heavily.
Police Chief, Quirino Muñoz,tells us Vasquez drove to the house looking for the roommate of the victim's girlfriend. Medellin went inside but stepped outside minutes later.
“For some unknown reason, when the victim came out of the home, a verbal argument ensued between the assailant and victim.”
Medellin was stabbed several times. He was transported to a hospital where he later died.
