In McAllen, after more than two days on the loose, a man turns himself into police for the fatal hit and run accident that killed a grandmother, who was walking home from work.
53 year-old Elida Aguirre was killed after being struck by a white GMC truck on Pecan Boulevard and Second street. Police say the driver of that truck took off and days later he turned himself in for the crime. Joanna Villareal, Aguirre's mother, was pleading to the person who killed her mom to come forward.
Now Joanna can finally get some peace knowing that the man, police believed killed her mom is behind bars. McAllen police say, 28 year-old Cesar Rolando Yarritu turned himself in and now is being charged with the fatal hit and run accident. His friend, who was in the car the night of the accident, went to police and told them what happened.
