The big topic health care reform, President Obama discussed his plan saying it would cost around $900 billion dollars over the next 10 years.
He mentioned he would not sign a plan that would add even a nickel to the deficit with a provision in the plan would require the government to come forward with spending cuts. If the savings promised don't materialize who will cover the $900 billion dollar price tag?
The President went on to say if the plan is able to slow the cost of health care by just one tenth of 1% each year. It would reduce the deficit by $1 trillion dollars over the long term. White House officials say this was not a make or break speech, but this was undeniably a bold move by the President to try to push his version of health reform.
