Cameron county could be receiving a hefty amount of stimulus money, something local leaders say is necessary.
Judge Carlos Cascos says the International Boundary and Water Commission has appropriated nearly $200 million dollars fro upcoming repair projects in Cameron, Hidalgo, and Starr county. The IBWC is currently looking into which of these counties in South Texas needs the most funding.
Judge Cascos went on to say it's an ongoing process but will be advocating for funding from the International Boundary and Water Commission to hopefully repair the levees in Cameron county.
