Texas week is here and hotels are seeing high occupancy rates.
The warm weather is here, and so are the spring breakers. the island's convention and visitors bureau says hotels are 85-90 percent full when they were expecting around 75 percent. the clubs are also packed inside.
The majority of students down here are from Texas schools.
But other schools are also making to trip down.
Students say the cost to get down was not bad at all, as the majority drove to the island in big groups.
The Island's Convention and Visitors bureau says it's trying boost revenues on the Island by bring down big artists like Akon. They are also encouraging more clubs to open. Just a couple weeks ago the Padre Rock, this two story night club on the north end of the Island opened it's doors to spring breakers.
Law enforcement officials say things have run smoothly on the island. they are patrolling with a-tv's and helicopters.
Spring breakers say they just want to have a good time.
Despite the strong turnout as the week begins, the Island is still anticipating around 40,000 spring breakers which is less than last year. But are hoping the big numbers continue to surprise them.
