A former B.I.S.D. employee is now behind bars after the jury in his trial came back with a guilty verdict which took a jury two full days of deliberations for them to reach their decision.
Ricardo Vargas worked as an interpreter for the Brownsville Independent School District. In 2007 a 14 year-old student accused him of fondling him and committing sexual acts on three different occasions which Vargas denies. After deliberating for two days the jury found Vargas guilty on all six counts against him and he could face life in prison.
