Spring Break across Texas is off to a gloomy start on South Padre Island tonight.
Students who made their way to the Valley tonight had to battle sprinkles -- even rain to get there.
News center 23's Kenny Lopez went to the Island tonight to find out if the weather is dampening their fun.
Chilly weather to kick off, Texas week, is not preventing some college kids from taking the plunge.
"I'm still gonna have fun, i don't care if it's cold or not."
Earlier this week, bikini-clad college students, partied on the beach, but now, at the official start of Texas week, they've traded in their beach wear for scarves and hoodies.
Something which really bugs this Spring Breaker.
For him, no skin means no fun.
"I'm disappointed with the lack of girls in bikinis."
"We can't go to the beach and party, we have to party in our hotel rooms by ourselves."
University of Houston Juniors, Blanca Cantu and Lindsay Engleheart say the rain, drizzle, and wind are dampening the fun.
"It feels like Hurricane Ike."
These spring breakers say, it's time to put the sun, back in their fun.
"It feels like 30 degrees outside, I'm ready for the sun."
