Firefighters working to keep multiple California blazes under control.
Firefighters are moving fast this morning to get ahead of a wildfire near Palmdale, California.
The blaze has already destroyed three homes, but has hundreds more within its striking distance.
The fire is one of six that erupted Thursday afternoon in the mountainous desert area roughly 50 miles north of Los Angeles.
The "Crown Fire" has now consumed more than 5,000 acres and at least half a dozen homes and structures.
Nearly 4,000 people living near the fire were evacuated Thursday evening.
An all out air assault is taking placen ow with fire crews hoping to get a really good handle on the blaze before temperatures and winds kick up later this afternoon.
