A handful of cat colonies are continuing to cause big problems in the town of Rancho Viejo.
The Mayor says police patrol surveillance captured at least seven colonies of cats and on Tuesday evening the Board of Alderman tried coming to a solution, but for many, what they decided is just not enough. The Town of Ranco Viejo, people population is close to 1,754 vs the cat population is unknown, but one thing is for sure there are too many.
The ordinance the Board of Alderman looked at would have made it illegal to feed feral cats and also planned to pick up strays and send them to a shelter where they would face euthanasia. Several people felt the proposed ordinance had several hole in it and was tabled. The board will continue to look at the problem monthly while reviewing possible changes to the ordinance.
