Two men accused of stealing $15,000 dollars worth of property from a Brownsville high school went before a judge on Friday morning. Police were able to recover all the property that was stolen, Na'Tassia Finley has more on the crime and what police are doing to prevent future break-ins.
Police say Daniel Jiminez Jr. and Macario Rodriguez broke into Porter high school through a back window and stole several thousand dollars worth of property. They took several video cameras and an LCD monitor and the total of the items was close to $15,000 dollars. The two could face up to two years in a state jail if convicted.
According to B.I.S.D. Police, this weeks break-ins are not a sign of increasing crime, but officers have beefed up patrols around the schools in hoping to deter future burglaries.
