Archer Park Get Directions 
The City of McAllen is proud to announce the lineup of its 82ND Annual Independence Day Celebration presented by Holanda Fruttare. All Independence Day festivities will be held on Saturday, July 3rd.
The celebration will begin with the Patriotic Program and Parade at 8:15 a.m. The parade presented by Shell Exploration & Production features the theme, “Freedom: An American Treasure”, and begins at Jackson and Main Street in Downtown McAllen and ends at Archer Park. Over 140 units are expected to participate in this year's event. The parade will feature dignitaries, a number of floats, antique cars, and marching groups. Last year, an estimated crowd of 25,000 people attended the parade.
Following the program and parade, a variety of activities will be available at Archer Park as well, including music, food and refreshment booths, games, and arts and crafts until 3:00 PM. A special performance by Deborah Case Dance Studio will be featured as well as a karaoke contest and hot dog eating contest at the gazebo. This year’s Archer Park festivities and Patriotic Program are presented by IBC Bank.
On Friday afternoon, the excitement heads to Municipal Park for a Kiddie Carnival from 3:00 PM until 11:00 PM. Food and refreshment booths will also be on-site. At Municipal Pool, Public Swim will be available from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
The annual Independence Day “Concert in the Sky" fireworks display will conclude the day's festivities at 9:00 p.m. at Municipal Park
