The Rio Grande Valley Food Bank is honored for their efforts in feeding thousands of local families during this hurricane season.
The USDA under Secretary of Food, Nancy Johner made a visit to the local food bank to personally congratulate them from their outstanding work. The Food Bank RGV assisted people in the areas affected the most by Hurricane Dolly.
They distributed over one million pounds of food in the 2 weeks after Dolly hit and the 1 million pound mark is double the Food Bank's average distribution. Currently there is a huge need for food donations so the Food Bank can continue to feed all those who are in need.
