A husband is behind bars and suspected of killing his wife by shooting her in the back as her children witnessed the murder. Debbie Zamora's body was lying in the middle of Guerra road feet away from her home in Mercedes. She was separated from her husband and moved into a mobile home with her children in the last month and police say that her husband drove by around 10 PM and saw an SUV parked outside the home. The husband left the residence and then returned back to Zamora's home armed with a shotgun and entered the home seeing Zamora with another man. He then shot at Zamora hitting her once, but she managed to flee the home and into a neighbors home and locked the doors. Her husband left the area and then returned barging into the neighbors home and finding Zamora and her children inside a bathroom where he shot two rounds into the air.
Zamora then ran out of the bathroom fearing her life and headed out the home as her husband followed her out. As deputies arrived at the scene they witnessed her husband shooting at her and killing her. The couple have had instances of domestic violence in the past. Her husband has been charged with murder and aggravated assault and his bond is set at $2 million dollars.
