As we watch what seems to be increasing violence across the border, the counties that share a border with the country say they are prepared for danger that could spill across to this side.
Emergency Management Director Johnny Cavazos says Cameron county's plans are constantly being updated and officials are carefully watching for danger across the border. This is the county's contingency plan and in it he says are plans of action for just about every scenario.
The plans are not only for civil unrest but for acts of terrorism, hurricanes, tornado's, fires, building collapses, whatever may be catastrophic to the county. Cavazos would not share specifics for tactical reasons, but did say the plans include just about every scenario and that the plans are tested through drills every year.
