The U.S. State Department is extending the travel warning to Mexico which includes the border cities of Matamoros, Monterrey, Nuevo Laredo and Cuidad Juarez. Officials are urging U.S. citizens living or heading to Mexico to be on alert when they travel across the border. In particular, the State Department is urging Americans to avoid parts of Chihuahua. The recent Mexican drug violence has prompted the U.S. to extend the travel warning until May.
