With the beautiful weather on Monday in the Valley it served as the backdrop for the beginning of Spring Break on South Padre Island.
Spring Break 2009 kicked off on South Padre Island on Monday with the majority of the students from Michigan. They began their Spring Break with a 30 hour drive which also helped them save some money.
The Town of South Padre Island Visitors Bureau says not all the island's hotel rooms are open because of Hurricane Dolly damage is still keeping some of the doors closed, but they insist students will find no problems finding a place to stay.
