HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A call to police, about the location of a wanted person, leads to the arrest of a homeowner for possession of marijuana.
On Friday, July 25th in the morning hours police were tipped about the location of a wanted man at a residence on the 15000 block of Queen Sago Road.
When officers arrived they spoke to the homeowner, identified as Armando Bermundez, 52, who gave them consent to search the property for the wanted person.
Officers entered the home and discovered a plastic baggie containing marijuana in plain view and additional found six marijuana plants in the garden all in total weighing over 15 ounces.
While attempting to place Bermundez in handcuffs, he resisted by stiffening his body and attempting to pull away from officers.
Bermundez was charged with possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and handed a $45,500 dollars.
