La Joya police detain illegal immigrants after car chase.

A weekend chase in La Joya ended with two people facing deportation charges. The incident occurred after officers tried to pull the driver of a Suburban over, but the driver sped off and drover to the end of a road leading to the Rio Grande River. At the point, 20 to 30 illegal immigrants, jumped out of the Suburban and ran into the brush. Police were able to capture two immigrants and detain them and they are awaiting deportation.
