EDINBURG, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A toddler is recovering from injuries after being ejected from a vehicle during a car accident.
It happened this afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Edinburg Police say a 29-year-old woman was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 281 when her SUV lost control and crashed into a concrete barrier.
A three-year-old girl was ejected through an open window and landed on the roadway.
The toddler received head injuries and was taken to a local hospital where she is listed in stable condition.
The female driver is said to be okay.
Investigators are trying to determine if the child was restrained in a car seat at the time of the crash. Police could not locate any car seat at the accident scene.
No charges have been filed against the driver.
