A big decision out of Cameron County with the Park Rangers who patrol South Padre Island are being moved.
County Commissioners voted on it in a meeting on Thursday and officials were quick to point out that all of the Park Rangers will still have a job and that the parks will still be patrolled.
The existing Rangers will be assigned to two different constables with one in Rio Hondo and the other in Laguna Vista. County Judge, Carlos Cascos, says it allows the law officers to patrol more than just park territories and save taxpayers $15,000 dollars a year, even with the same number of officers.
