WESLACO, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The Weslaco Police Department has a new chief.
Former police chief Michael Kelley will be replaced by Sergio Ramirez, who is only taking the interim chief role.
Kelley is leaving around the middle of this month.
Ramirez has been with the Weslaco Police Department for two decades. He will be making a large career jump, oing from corporal to the city's top cop.
Ramirez wasn't available to speak Tuesday.
