Raymondville Man Shot by Police Dies

In Raymondville, an officer killed a man when the man charged at the officer with an ax.

The Raymondville Chronicle reports that firefighters and police responded to a fire and Carlos Cortez was inside the home and refused to come out. He charged at a firefighter with a knife and he grabbed an ax from a fire truck and attempted to attack a police officer.

The officer shot at Cortez shooting him in the chest and was transported to a near by hospital where he later died.
