Man claims Albuquerque police officer's assault led to the loss of his testicle. Caleb James reports.
(KOB) A 24-year-old University of New Mexico law school student says he was kneed in the groin by an Albuquerque Police Department officer so hard it shattered one of his testicles.
It was after midnight Friday. 24-year-old law student Jeremy Martin was driving a carload of friends through the UNM area when cops say he ran a stop sign.
According to the police report, APD Officer Padilla said Jeremy seemed drunk and admitted to having three beers. After a field sobriety test, Officer Padilla told Jeremy to sit on the curb but says Jeremy resisted.
Jeremy martin's attorney, Sam Bregman says what happened next is hard to stomach.
"This officer felt the necessity to knee him so directly and with so much blunt force that it shattered his testicle," Bregman said.
