The government is offering $300 million dollars in rebates when you buy a new, energy efficient appliances, NBC reporter Tracie Potts has more.
The Energy Department is using stimulus money as an incentive to get people to get rid of old appliances. You could save hundreds, even thousands of dollars, if you read the fine print. The government's doing for your home is what Cash for Clunkers did for your car. Rebates have already started in 13 states and the rest will begin this spring.
