HIDALGO COUNTY, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A teenager is dead and two men are in the hospital recovering from stab wounds after an apparent road rage incident turned deadly.
The stabbing happened on Saturday night on the 7000 block of El Lucero in Mission. That's where Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office investigators discovered the body of 19-year-old Christian De Anda, also known as "Diablo."
Investigators are still working to determine what, if any, gang that the victim may have been affiliated with.
The autopsy reveals that De Anda died from a stab wound to the chest that penetrated his heart. The murder weapon is unknown and has not been found at this time.
The two men who were also stabbed are identified as 29-year-old Victor Guzman and 20-year-old Noel Adriano Guzman. Their wounds are listed as non-life threatening.
Officials say that De Anda and both Guzman men were involved in a fight with Daniel Nordhausen, 24, and Misael Silva, 25, after an apparent road rage altercation.
"There's different scenarios that came in of course through witnesses and so forth, but ultimately, basically it was a confrontation that happened along the roadway that escalated into a fight and from a fight it escalated into a homicide," explained HCSO Cmdr. John Montemayor.
Nordhausen and Silva are both charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of first degree murder.
Judge Bobby Contreras gave each of the suspects a total bond of $3 million for all three charges.
Montemayor said additional arrests may be possible as investigators continue to investigate this case.
