Two Hidalgo county employees are recognized with a prestigious award for helping a law enforcement officer during a traffic stop that turned violent.
Dash Cam video shows just how violent the man got after he was pulled over. Officials say the trooper on duty attempted to pull the car over after the driver committed a traffic violation, but instead of complying with the trooper, the man attacked him. Thankfully, two Hidalgo county employees, who were driving by, saw what was happening and assisted the trooper.
Both recipients received the Director's Award, which is the highest award that could be given to a civilian outside of the agency.
