Two men are behind bars after stealing a car from a convenience store in McAllen.
Joseph Matthew and Rafael Velasquez are charged with criminal attempted capital murder after stealing a vehicle from a store in McAllen on Monday morning. Officials say the victim saw the men get into his car and jumped on hood to prevent them from stealing it. One of the suspects drove the car with the victim on the hood for some miles until crashing into some parked cars. The impact caused the victim to suffer severe leg injuries and remains in the hospital. Each suspect remains in jail with a $250,000 dollar bond.
