An Hidalgo county project, that is underway, will unify the county's diverse economic development strategies and identify its assets to enhance the regions competitive position.
In a meeting on Thursday morning, the County Judge, along with other local officials, unveiled the second phase of the project. The first phase of the project is complete and leaders are ready to begin the second phase. The project titled, "Ignite Hidalgo County" is designed to bring together public and private sectors and create an economic road map to diversify and strengthen the local economy.
The University of Texas Pan American and the Economic Development Administration are partnering up with the county and the project is scheduled to be completed in six months.
