PHARR, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Wal-Mart is expanding in the Rio Grande Valley and needs employees for its stores.
The retail giant will open a dozen new stores in the Valley this year. A hiring center is opening for the sole purpose of finding employees for those stores. The center will stay open the rest of the year to hire for the other stores where construction is underway.
Beginning Thursday, the center will look to fill 300 jobs for the newest store in Edinburg.
"We'll have supervisors, hourly supervisors available. The management team, the salary member management team is being chosen from different stores," said Melly Perez, the manager for the new Edinburg store. "We will be hiring between now and when we take possession April 14."
The hiring center is located at 944 Nolana Loop in Pharr.
