BROWNSVILLE, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A father turned himself into Brownsville police after a warrant was issued on him for shooting his young son with a BB gun.
On Saturday, February 22nd Miguel Gonzalez, 35, was arrested and charged with injury to a child after the mother of the child filed a complaint against Gonzalez back on February 16th for shooting their son with a BB gun.
The mother stated that she had picked up her kids after they spent their scheduled weekend with Gonzalez and while the 8 year-old was taking a bath she noticed an injury on his stomach.
The boy told his mother that he accidentally shot his younger brother with the BB gun and his father then shot him the stomach. Gonzalez admitted to the mother that he had shot his son in the stomach to teach the boy a lesson.
Both children were checked at the hospital for minor injuries and Gonzalez was charged with injury to a child and handed a $5,000 bond.
