The clean up continues on South Padre Island a month later after the implosion of the Ocean Towers building.
Controlled Demolition Incorporated is scheduled to clear all the debri by March of this year. County officials say more than 98% of the crushed concrete will be used to improve the parking areas on beach access three and four. Ocean Tower officials are currently involved in a lawsuit against GEO Technical & Structural Engineering firms for the design of the building which lead to the implosion.
