CAMERON COUNTY, TX — The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office has joined forces with Citizens Against Voter Abuse and the Cameron County Elections Department to eliminate voter fraud during the elections.
“We are keeping a keen eye on the upcoming elections,” District Attorney Luis V. Saenz said. “We will seek prosecution against individuals committing fraud in an effort to manipulate the elections process, especially through mail-in ballots.”
Citizens Against Voter Abuse (CAVA) held a voter education initiative last week to provide the public with information on new voting procedures and on the efforts of the District Attorney’s Office to assist in the election’s process.
“CAVA has directly been responsible for the investigation and successful prosecution of individuals committing voter fraud,” Cameron County Elections Administrator Chris Davis. “Having the support of the DA’s Office complements the organization’s efforts.”
The Public Integrity Unit within the D.A.’s Office has been charged with fighting and investigating voter fraud in Cameron County.
