EDINBURG, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The WIC clinic in Edinburg is now open with more space to help moms and children.
The clinic off East Richardson Street expanded by 1,500 square feet.
It serves more than 5,000 clients each month, the largest number in Hidalgo County. Plans began on the remodeling in 2009.
"We needed more space, so with this new addition to our existing space and making it brand new, in reality, we're able to service clients more efficiently and in less time," said the Clinic's director, Norma Longoria.
WIC gives food and health information for women and children up to age five.
