With the cold weather heading our way on Thursday through Sunday, Cameron county is making preparations at shelters.
Several shelters will be open at no cost for people seeking shelter from the extreme cold. The Ozanam Center, located on Minnesota Avenue in Brownsville, will be welcoming people at all hours. The Loaves and Fishes shelter in Harlingen, on South E street, will be opening their doors from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m..
