EDINBURG, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A pair of high school students are behind bars... Accused of kidnapping a prostitution client who refused to pay in full.
Hidalgo County officials say Mission residents Jennifer Cuevas and Yolanda De Leon had sex with a man for money.
They confessed to tying him up when he didn't pay in full.
The man escaped... And both parties wound up at a convenience store telling their side of the story to police officers.
They are both 17 years old.
"We have absolutely no idea what motivated them to do something like this, nor do we know if it's the first time they have ever done this," Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño said. "Now that was the shocking part for me.... Kidnapping him and trying to force him to pay up, that's what surprised me more than anything else."
Both girls are looking at first-degree felonies and a $100,000 bond. The man could still face charges for his role.
