Florida man accused of tossing 2-year-old son from hotel balcony before making his own leap. Amanda Ober reports.
(WESH) A Kissimmee, Florida man was arrested on attempted murder charges Tuesday after police said he threw his 2-year-old son from a second story motel balcony.
Police said they were called to the Budget Inn just after midnight Tuesday morning because a man and a toddler were lying on the ground in the parking lot.
According to Kissimmee Police Department investigators, 41-year-old Juan Pablo Maradiaga threw the boy from the 12-foot second story balcony and then jumped.
When officers arrived, the child was conscious and breathing but his face was covered in blood. Maradiaga was bleeding severely from his leg and a portion of his bone was exposed. According to the arrest affidavit, he smelled of alcohol.
