BROWNSVILLE, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A man is shot to death leaving police to figure out who pulled the trigger, Na'Tassia Finley has more on Brownsville's first homicide of the year.

Brownsville PD have identified the victim as 30 year-old Manuel Ocanas Barrientos of Brownsville, JJ Trevino, Brownsville PIO, "He was found in his van, sitting down with seat belt on, so parked."
Police say the victim was shot multiple times from the outside of his van while sitting in front of a house on Calvel Street in the Southmost area. While many of the neighbors that live in the area were out watching NewsCenter 23 report on the crime many didn't want to talk except for Rusty Monsees who stated, "I heard a stream of gunfire. I know it was a machine gun. Years ago I was a firearms dealer and I have handled all kinds of weapons and I recognized it and it sounded like a 9mm and from little experience I have had with class three weapons, it sounded like an Uzi style weapon."
Police are working off of limited information at this point, they're not sure why the victim was in this particular neighborhood being that his address indicated he lived across town.
