EDINBURG, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Hidalgo County Sheriff deputies seized 1,800 pounds of marijuana after a caller reported of suspicious activity at a mobile home in Edinburg.
On Monday, January 13th the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office received a call about several vehicles and a group of men carrying rifles and raiding a mobile home located at 21618 Uresti Road on the north side of Edinburg.
The caller stated that some of the vehicles had flashing red and blue lights like those used on law enforcement units.
When deputies arrived the found seven vehicles on the property with lights flashing and the doors open. They searched the area finding two assault rifles that were reported stolen, one handgun and 1,800 lbs. of marijuana, but did not find anyone at the scene. Deputies believe those individuals fled the area but do have evidence to identify the suspects.
