There are almost 24 locations for people to drop off their Christmas tree in the Valley.
One of the bigger operations is the recycling center in McAllen which has three drop off points in the city. They say chipping there will have to wait for the new year because the trees are wet right now and can't be processed. Some of the trees are composted and others become fragrant chips which can be used as mulch in landscapes. Officials are asking that the trees be stripped of decorations and with no flocking or tinsel.
