Maryland man arrested after authorities find "clandestine bomb lab" in home. David Collins reports.
(WBAL) Federal authorities are taking a lead role in the investigation into multiple explosive devices found in a Glen Burnie, Maryland home on Friday.
Todd Wheeler, 28, already faces state charges associated with bomb-making materials.
Wheeler inadvertently tipped off authorities after seeking treatment at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center the day before the raid for injuries caused in part by chemicals, police said.
Armed with a search warrant, investigators found multiple explosive-making materials, including powders, canisters, chemicals and tools that they believe could be used in the manufacture of explosives, according to a source associated with the investigation.
