Friends, relatives and supporters of legendary Mexican singer Ramon Ayala protested outside the Attorney General's Office in Mexico City.
The demonstrators demanded that the singer be released after police announced last week he would be jailed for up to 40 days. He was arrested at a suspected drug cartel's party that he and his band were playing at a mansion in the area. During the 40 day period, prosecutors will decide whether to charge Ayala with taking part in organized criminal activity, crimes against health and taking illicit money.
