HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Harlingen police arrested a man for destruction of the American flag after city employees discovered the it mutilated.
On Monday, December 16th at around 8:30 a.m. police were called to the 500 block of W. Harrison Avenue in regards to the destruction of an American flag at Gutierrez Park.
City employees reported discovering the American flag had been mutilated and then tied around the staff.
The officer made contact with a man, identified as Adam Christopher Earleywine, 28, who admitted to the destruction of the American flag and also challenging the city employees to a fight.
The officer arrested Earleywine and he was charged with destruction of U.S. / Texas flag and handed a $3,500 bond.
